A devastating fire broke out at a parish of the Christ Apostolic Church in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday night, trapping several worshippers inside. The incident occurred at about 9:30 pm at Wisdom Estate, Road 1G, Olohunda Road, in the Lagelu Local Government Area.

According to eyewitnesses, the church was hosting a Friday vigil when the fire started. Many worshippers had fallen asleep before the vigil began when the fire broke out, leaving some unable to escape. An eyewitness described the scene, saying an elderly woman was still inside the church as the fire raged on.
